Shaped by two Creative Visionaries, the soft Borsalino felt takes on the form of a new Cloche.

With its sinuous brim, the gentle enveloping curves highlight the purity of its design portrayed in three color palettes ranging from eclectic elegant-black; mysterious wine-burgundy; and earthy moss-green. Each hat adorns the Borsalino hot-stamped logo, emblem of Made in Italy artisanal know-how; a Borsalino Special Edition x AMI Paris internal label; and is accompanied by a refined dedicated hatbox.   

Born in 1980 and a graduate from the fashion design Duperré School in Paris, Alexandre Mattiussi first began his career collaborating for several fashion houses before launching AMI in 2011. Inspired by the French word for friend, the brand name is also a play on the founder’s initials. AMI offers clothing and accessories for men and women that captures a relaxed, authentic and friendly type of Parisian nonchalance, distinctive of the French capital.      

Commenting on the unique Borsalino collaboration, AMI founder Alexandre Mattiussi says: “AMI’s Spring-Summer 2022 collection is very distinctive, very bright, and I wanted to create strong elements to accessorize it. I have been following Borsalino’s work and craftsmanship for a long time, so partnering up with them was a natural thing to do. Both our brands share a lot: a thorough attention to details, a particular appreciation to heritage, a sensibility for sophisticated luxury, those that are ultimately transmitted from generation to generation.”
