Music in the top hat
What do the former guitarist of Guns N 'Roses Slash and the great composer Giuseppe Verdi have in common ? Music, of course, even if we are talking about completely different eras, places and genres. But there is one other thing that unites not only them, but also, for example, the femme fatale Marlene Dietrich with the disconcerting Marilyn Manson, or transgressive Boy George with the up-beat Zucchero Fornaciari ... What's that? The top hat!
Starting from the great Italian master of opera and melodrama, who loved topping his elegant clothes with a model of hat known as a "tuba" (a hat similar to the top hat but even taller), there are in fact a lot of other musical celebrities who are remembered for having chosen this particular accessory to make themselves stand out. Take, for example, the sensual and charming Marlene Dietrich, who was the first woman to wear a top hat when she danced. Coming much closer to the present, an image that spontaneously springs to mind is that of Slash, Velvet Revolver guitarist and former member of the 80s and 90s hard rock band Guns N' Roses, who in all his concerts and public appearances has never been seen without a top hat and dark glasses.
Among the most famous "wearers" of the top hat is also "our very own" Zucchero Fornaciari: he too never goes without his hat during his performances, and the top hat is certainly among his favourites. He himself has declared that he has a collection of 350 hats... a genuine passion of his!
